Color Guard Instructor
Job objective is to develop a positive learning environment that helps the guard program flourish and grow which meets the goals set by the Band Director.
Job Duties:
- Ensure the safety of the students at all times
- Consult with directors on show concepts and directions
- Establish goals with the directors for the program
- Prepare lesson plans for class and rehearsals
- Consult with band directors on contests schedule
- Develop fundamental training program for body and equipment
- Lead warm up and stretch
- Create and teach chorography for all presentations
- Pre-contest warm-up preparations
- Listen to judge’s comments and create a plan for addressing issues
- Mentor and direct assistant instructors
- Help recruit for next year’s program
Job Requirements:
- Have at least one year of working with a color guard or a degree in education
- Have reliable transportation to and from assigned school or schools
- Have good communication skills
- Have patience in dealing with students with varying levels
- Must be professional and courteous at all times
- Be role model for Performer’s Academy and follow all school rules
- Pass all back-ground checks required by the state and school district

Color Guard Tech
Job objective is to assist the color guard instructor to create a positive learning environment that helps the program flourish and grow which meets the goals set by the Band Director.
Job duties:
- Help instructor achieve goals for the program by assisting in class and rehearsals
- Help instruct students and ensure proper technique is applied
- Work with fundamental training program established by instructor
- Help lead warm up and stretch
- Help clean chorography for all presentations
- Help recruit for next year’s program
- Assist with other duties as assigned by instructor or Directors
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Must have been in a color guard program at least one year
- Have reliable transportation to and from assigned school or schools
- Have good communication skills
- Have patience in dealing with students with varying levels
- Must be professional and courteous at all times
- Be role model for Performer’s Academy and follow all school rules
